Papa, mama and I have always wanted to visit the Cincinnati Zoo. We heard that it's one of the best zoological gardens in the country. Since we were looking for a place to bring lola, we decided to finally go.
As we were leaving our house, Mama was having doubts if we should proceed, after all, Ohio was in the North and therefore, there was a chance that the temperature there was definitely colder than Kentucky's. Papa said, if it becomes to cold for us to go to the Zoo, we could always go to the big Mall there. That was definitely fine for my Mama.
Before reaching Cincinnati, we dropped by the beautiful St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, KY, which was a magnificent 1/3 size replica of the Notre Dame in Paris and home to the world's largest stained glass window. The church is simply magnificent.

We are in front of the Cathedral. The facade itself is actually quite breathtaking.

A very behaved churchgoer. That's me!

I personally think that we are prettier than the stained glass windows behind us.

The classic lola pose!
After a short prayer, we proceeded to the Zoo. However, no amount of prayer was able to make the weather warmer. It was sooo cold! Bundled and bulky, we still tried our very best to enjoy ourselves. Here's a tip. Do not go to the zoo during wintertime. The animals were hidden inside warmer buildings so we were not able to see them. We were only able to see lions, elephants, some insects, snakes, birds, and lizards. The rhinos, tigers, giraffes, zebras, and bears were all absent :( Most importantly, we froze our butts off! Hihi! After this experience, lola swore off winter altogether.

Not too excited about the freezing wind, but totally excited for picture-taking!

Escaping the cold inside the large birdhouse.

Lola is trying very hard not to scare the poor peacock away.

If you're wondering what this picture is all about, papa was actually trying to time the shot so that the huge polar bear would be behind lola and mama. It just didn't work because the bear swam too fast!

The elephants are so cute! I think they are now my favorite animals. All they did was eat and poop. Just like me!

These were the only rhinos we saw, the real ones were hibernating with their friends for the winter.

Just getting some souvenirs before we leave.
So now, it's off to the mall for us. As my mallrat mama happily puts it: finally! Lola and I couldn't agree more.
