Rock City

October 23 2005: Chattanooga, Tennessee

Papa had a one week training in Atlanta, and we tagged along. Unfortunately, there was no way we could make pasyal so we just stayed inside our hotel room most of the time. On our way back home to Louisville, and after previously visiting Ruby Falls, we decided to finally drop by Rock City, the second installment of our Lookout Mountain adventure.

Am I not as excited as Mama?

We just need four more of him and we're all set for Snow White.

Rock City is located on top of Lookout Mountain. There is a trail made up of magnificent rock formations, which we hiked for about 30-45 minutes (no strollers allowed), until we reached the top where we were able to see 7 nearby states. The hike and the views really took our breaths away.

Mama and I taking a breather.

And another breather.

The weather was wonderful. The Fall climate made the trek easier, as well as helped fill the surroundings with color.

The leaves on the trees were so picture perfect!

Hand in hand with mama over the rock bridge. Very peaceful.

By the way, Happy Halloween!

In order to reach the peak, we had to make a choice if we wanted to take the longer, safer route, or the shorter, more exciting route. Guess what we chose?

The wobbly rope bridge! I wasn't scared, although I think I scared everybody else because I kept jumping up and down the bridge, hehe.

See that ledge over there? That's what they call the Lover's Leap. How romantic!

Taking the Sky Bridge to get there. Mama doesn't dare let me walk on my own.

We did it!! Mama's tired from carrying me. She needs to go to the gym more often, hehe.

Where's home? Do you see it?

Next we're going to see the waterfalls.

But first we will have to fit through here, it's called the Fat Man Squeeze.

After much sucking in of the tummy, we made it through the caverns to get to this beautiful waterfalls.

If only I could tell Mama that standing on this ledge is not a very good idea.

Maybe home is between these boulders?

Can you imagine, they built a fairyland cavern inside the mountain! Wow!

I wish we had better pictures of this blacklight attraction, but it was so dark, hehe.

I am concerned that Papa's head is not in this 3rd hole.

The mill ends our hike. What a great experience!

After Rock City, we spent the night at Kuya Jed's house in Nashville because we went trick or treating at the Nashville Zoo. Unfortunately, I wasnt prepared! I didn't have a costume. At least I had a spooky pail, which I got with my Jack In The Box kiddie meal, hehe.

Here's my costume. I am Angelina Jolie.

That's Kuya Jed (Maskless Darth Vader) on the horse holding hands with Ate Danni (Catwoman), while on the merry-go-round.

And here is Kuya Lonzo (Batman).

My mama is helping me count (eat) my loot!

I enjoyed staying with Kuya Jed. He will make a very good kuya to his soon-to-arrive-baby brother. :)

My sweet Kuya Jed.

Kuya Jed and I demolishing the airbed. So fun!

After we finish visiting all the attractions at Lookout Mountain, maybe we'll try our walking shoes in Nashville, next! For now, I'll be looking forward to our Chicago trip with Ninang Angela! :)
