My Ninang Angela arrived in Indianapolis for a month-long business trip. Since Indy was only 2 hours away, we decided to pay her a visit and spend the entire weekend with her.
The night we arrived, we picked up Ninang from her hotel and we had dinner at Texas Roadhouse, where they gave us free baby back ribs because we were first timers :D

No baby back ribs for me yet. Just wait until my molars show up!
After that, we went with Ninang to Walmart to get some supplies to last Ninang the rest of the month. Of course, Mama even cooked lumpia, and Papa cooked adobo for her as pasalubong, hehe.
First thing in the morning, we went directly to the Indianapolis Zoo and Gardens. The zoo is one the major attractions in Indy, and boasts of world-class hosting facilities for its animals. It's not as big as Cinzy Zoo (which we visited earlier this year) but it's still a wonderful place to see.
$8.00 gets you adults in. As for me, I get in for free!

Ok, so I am still afraid of mascots, especially big brown ones like this one. I feel like Little Red Riding Hood.
Here are some of the animals I saw inside. They are so cute!

I got a kiss from the great big toothless Walrus.

Flamingoes! As long-legged as Ninang, hehe.

This is Benny the Bull's cousin.

Here I am petting Billy Goat Gruff (who's not so gruff naman!).

I can't remember what these birds are, but they are so friendly and behaved sitting there together with the other animals.

The horse wears prada.

Stolen shot of the giraffes.

On the sixth day, God made picture-taking, kodakan-loving humans.

White rhinos just chillin.

Hey, you're not Boots the Monkey?

Ey-fans! Mama said that the very first successful artificial insemination of elephants happened here in Indy Zoo. Uh, yehey?

My photographer-slash-yaya Ninang with the subject-slash-cutie me.

Pasyal break! I wonder, did Noah have a playground on his ark? Hmmm...

We watched the dolphin show. The dolphins were so talented, and the people in front were so wet, hehe.

Wow! Giant aquarium! Bye friends!
Our next stop was the White River Gardens, just adjacent to the zoo.

They were exhibiting bonsais at that time, and mama enjoyed herself because she loves bonsais.

Bonsais :)

This one was her favorite, it looked like a small forest. Nice!
My papa, loved the flowers, trees, and shrubs. Here are some of his pictures.

This one is mama's favorite picture.
The most beautiful flowers in the world:

Like mama...

Like Ninna...
After the Zoo, we went Zoom, hehe.
What's a visit to Indianapolis without dropping by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It is home to the Indy 500, Brickyard 400 (or NASCAR), and the US Grand Prix. Papa has always wanted to watch the races but just never had the chance (and the moolah to buy the tickets, hehe).

Perhaps we need a checkered flag to stop us from taking pictures. We can't stop!

Maybe I'll grow up to become an F1 racer? I may have had too much to drink already, hmmm...heheh.
We didn't enter the museum anymore, but rather rode a tour bus and went around the indy track. It was so cool! Here are some pictures taken by my Ninang while we were on the bus(Papa was too tamad to take pics, hehehe).

The stands.

The thing that counts the number of laps.

The track.

Our tour bus. I feel the need for speed!
Last stop, home court. Mama and Ninang instructed Papa to park in front of the stadium despite the many policemen who were patrolling the area for illegal parkers. I didn't want to get down from the car anymore, it was too risky, hehe.

The Conseco Fieldhouse. As it turns out, the police did allow fans to take pictures of the Home Court, hehe.
This marks the end of our day at Indianapolis.
Behind Mama and Ninang is the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument just a block away from Ninang's Hotel in Downtown Indy.
Two weeks hence, I'll be seeing Ninang again for our Chicago trip. I can't wait!
